Nairobi Chinese New Year Temple Fair 2026 Held Successfully in Kenya

On February 8, 2026, the third annual Nairobi Chinese New Year Temple Fair was successfully held at CK Square, Ground Floor, Two Rivers Mall. The event was organised by the Kenya Overseas Chinese Association & Kenya China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Unification, together with the Kenya Chinese Women’s Federation. Having been staged twice successfully before, the fair was hailed by China Central Television (CCTV) in 2025 as “the largest Chinese New Year temple fair in Africa”, drawing wide attention both at home and abroad.

This year’s performances built on previous highlights such as Shaolin kungfu and dragon-and-lion dances, with a new addition: a Silk Road acrobatics show that brought even greater excitement and energy. A rich array of traditional Chinese delicacies and stage performances filled the air with festive cheer, allowing overseas Chinese far from home to experience the unmistakable atmosphere of a Chinese New Year.

Adding to the celebration, a delegation from Gansu Art Troupe made a special trip to Kenya to perform, vividly conveying the profound charm of traditional Chinese culture.
